🏆 Events & Tournaments
What are the different event types?

FASA offers several types of events:

  • SQ (State Qualifier): Every team must play in a State Qualifier to be eligible for the State Event
  • NIT (National Invitational Tournament): Double Point Event with competitive play
  • RQ (Regional Qualifier): Triple Point Event that qualifies teams for National events
  • State Tournament: Triple Point Event - the championship for your state
  • World Series: The ultimate championship event!
How does event seeding work?

FASA uses a fair seeding system:

  • Regional Qualifiers, State, National, and World Series Events: Seeded by FASA points ratings
  • Tied Points: Our system does a random draw with the tied teams
  • Most Weekend Events: Blind draw for fair competition

This ensures competitive and balanced brackets!

How do I qualify for the World Series or National?

FASA is participation oriented! Here's how to qualify:

  • Option 1: Participate in 1 State Qualifier AND your local State Tournament
  • Option 2: Place Top 2 in an NIT (National Invitational Tournament)
  • Option 3: Participate in a Triple Point Regional Qualifier

It's easier to qualify with FASA than most other organizations!

Team Classification
What are the team classifications?

Teams are classified into four categories based on performance:

CLASS A CLASS B CLASS C CLASS C-REC
  • Class A: Teams with winning percentage greater than 74% and run differential greater than 9 runs
  • Class B: Teams with winning percentage between 49% and 76% and run differential greater than 9 runs

⚠️ NO - FASA DOES NOT ALLOW TEAMS TO PLAY DOWN IN CLASSIFICATION

This policy ensures fair competition and prevents sandbagging. Teams must compete at or above their classification level.
